Modern Slavery Statement for Man with Van Waterloo
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Man with Van Waterloo has taken, and continues to take, to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place in our operations or supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to act ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implement effective systems and controls to safeguard against any form of modern slavery.
Our Business and Supply Chain
Man with Van Waterloo provides transport, removals and related services. Our operations rely on a network of drivers, vehicles, fuel providers, equipment suppliers and other service partners. While our direct workforce is relatively small and locally based, we acknowledge that elements of our supply chain may extend into sectors and regions that carry higher risks of labour exploitation.
We are committed to understanding these risks and working only with suppliers and partners who share our values and adhere to the same standards of ethical conduct.
Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
Man with Van Waterloo has a clear zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, child labour and all forms of exploitation. This policy applies to our own operations and to every party that supplies goods or services to us, whether directly or indirectly.
We expect all employees, contractors and suppliers to uphold the highest standards of human rights and labour practices. Any action or omission that may facilitate, conceal or ignore modern slavery is strictly prohibited. Where we identify a breach or credible risk of breach, we will act promptly, which may include terminating relationships and reporting concerns to the appropriate authorities.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We are progressively strengthening our supplier due diligence processes to reduce the risk of modern slavery in our supply chain. When engaging new suppliers, we seek confirmation that they comply with relevant labour, employment and human rights laws and that they have their own measures in place to prevent exploitation.
Where proportionate to the size and risk profile of the relationship, we may conduct supplier audits, which can include reviewing policies, requesting evidence of compliance and, where feasible, site visits or remote checks. Existing suppliers are subject to ongoing monitoring, and we reserve the right to suspend or cease working with any supplier that fails to meet our ethical and legal expectations.
Employee Awareness and Reporting Channels
We are committed to fostering a culture in which concerns about modern slavery can be raised safely and are taken seriously. All staff and workers engaged by Man with Van Waterloo are encouraged to remain alert to signs of exploitation, such as unreasonable working hours, restriction of movement, retention of identity documents or evidence of coercion.
Concerns or suspicions about modern slavery in our operations or supply chain can be reported to line managers or senior management. Reports can be made anonymously if preferred, and we will treat all information sensitively. We do not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against any person who raises a concern in good faith, and we will investigate all reports promptly and, where necessary, take corrective action.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Man with Van Waterloo understands that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility. We are committed to regularly reviewing and improving our policies, procedures and practices to strengthen our ability to identify, prevent and address risks.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed on an annual basis by our management team. As part of the review, we consider changes in law and best practice, feedback from staff and suppliers, and any incidents or concerns raised during the year. Where appropriate, we update our processes, enhance our due diligence activities and improve training and communication to ensure that our zero-tolerance approach is consistently applied.
This Statement has been approved by the management of Man with Van Waterloo and represents our current position and ongoing commitment to combating modern slavery and human trafficking in all forms.
